Back from the road...

Alright,

As the title confirms i am most definitely back from the road typing from my kitchen table.  My band had a triumphant showing at New York City's famous Irving Plaza, while we where supporting our good friends and fellow musicians The Energy, at their CD release Party.  The night started off great... I was the last one to get to the venue which forced me out of my normal nonchalant care free mentality, into a frenzy of activity. I had to locate the drum kit i was using, find out where to stash my gear, all while dodging the back of house crew who kept asking me why i was backstage with out a "talent pass", thus forcing me to divert my attention to that matter.  Once all the menial tasks had been accomplished it was time to sit down and wait till it was Crooked Crows tern to go on.

The talent for the night ran the was as diverse as the day is long, featuring a soulful young lady with a larger then life voice, a band that may very well be the offspring of Primus and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones(with a dancing penguin), the cast from jersey shore, then our friends The Energy.  The Energy live up to their name, those guys owned the venue that night.

As they say, after the party it is the after party, and although we did not party with the other bands Crooked Crow did our share of cutting loose.  After our show me and my fellow band mates congregated on another NYC haunt by the name of Arlene's Grocery.  I got word that a good friend of mine was playing a set and he asked my band to close the night out for him, so yet again Crooked Crow took up the charge and got on stage.  We only had time for one song, so we played a new track titled "On The Avenue" which was well received.

After that my band and I all went our separate ways for the evening. I headed back to my friends studio apartment, where I had a nice plot on the floor waiting for me.  My friend and I decided to get some famous New York Pizza so we dropped in on the closest place to grab a slice.  As luck would have it, some how I would offend a heavy set heavily intoxicated gentleman who took my looking for an ATM as a nod that I was looking for trouble.  My new found friend decided to let me know exactly what he thought of me, by breaking into a fanatical, and slapping me in the arm.  All of that excitement caused him to fall out of his chair smack into the floor with a wet slapping sound and pass out. Leaving me to the conclusion that I win again New York City!

Till next time!
